    Smart Playful Learning for Kids

    For the children’s magazine GEOLINO by Gruner + Jahr, several theme-based web games were developed. GEOLINO is aimed at children aged 9 to 13 and communicates knowledge about nature, technology, history, and everyday life in a well-founded yet playful way. The focus was on translating selected magazine topics into interactive game scenarios that do not simply explain content, but make it tangible and extend the curiosity sparked by the magazine itself.

    Editorial Content Reimagined

    The web games transformed editorial magazine content into interactive formats without losing its original character. Rather than simply presenting information, topics were translated into game worlds that invited active engagement and deepened the knowledge foundation established by the magazine.

    Motivation Through Interaction

    The games were designed not around traditional learning paths, but around curiosity, action, and exploration. By transforming content into playful experiences, topics became emotionally engaging and more memorable over time.

    All content was intentionally designed to be exploratory. Children decided for themselves which paths to follow and how deeply they wanted to dive into a topic. Knowledge was not delivered linearly, but made experientially accessible in context. Key focus areas:

    The solution represents a modern EdTech concept with high interaction quality and a technically scalable platform architecture designed to sustainably increase user engagement and learning success. An integrated authoring tool enables flexible and secure content management by multiple authors worldwide.

    Concept and development of an immersive football experience designed to explore reaction, motivation, and decision-making in a sports science context. Within a 360-degree projection environment, participants complete interactive kick challenges in which a physically kicked ball is captured via camera tracking and integrated into the digital game environment in real time.

Our role focused on developing a didactically structured, interactive product that extended the brand into the software medium and enabled new forms of playful language learning.t.

    Concept, dramaturgy, dialogues, game mechanics, and music were created entirely from scratch. In parallel, we collaborated with the original illustrator to develop a visual world that preserved the familiar style while unlocking new creative possibilities.

    The result was an award-winning educational software product demonstrating how established book brands can successfully be transformed into digital learning experiences – with strong user engagement, educational depth, and expanded value creation potential for publishers.

    The final product combines didactics, storytelling, and technology into a cohesive learning experience and successfully translates an established brand into the digital world.

    With the digital GEOLINO web product for Gruner + Jahr, one of Germany’s best-known educational magazines for children was transformed into an interactive digital experience for the first time. GEOLINO, aimed at children aged 9 to 13, stands for educational content that is both well-founded and playfully presented on equal footing with its audience. At the core of our work was the development of a digital platform that preserved this brand essence: not to instruct, but to spark curiosity – and make knowledge accessible through independent discovery.

    Career Orientation App with Comprehensive Self-Assessment

    Developed for BW Verlag in collaboration with the Federal Employment Agency, the interactive web application BERUFE-Universum was created to provide students with a structured digital self-assessment and derive individually suitable career and vocational training paths.

    Identifying Strengths and Interests for Career Orientation

    At the core of the application is a comprehensive self-exploration process. Students reflect on their interests, strengths, and personal preferences while also considering specific exclusion criteria – such as activities they consciously wish to avoid (e.g. working with blood). Academic performance is also taken into account.

    Career Ranking as a Planetary Model

    The results are translated into a ranked list of professions and visualized as an interactive planetary model. Each profession is represented as a “planet” positioned within a system around the student: the closer a profession is to the central user planet, the higher the match. Additional contextual information explains why a profession is suited to the individual user.

    Digital Support for an Important Decision

    The application transforms traditional career counseling into an interactive, data-driven experience. It helps young people better understand their opportunities and make informed decisions about their future educational and career paths.

    Component Tracking App for Prefabricated Construction

    A native Android application was developed for use in prefabricated house construction, enabling end-to-end tracking of components across multiple warehouses and construction sites. The goal of the project was to create transparency in distributed logistics and construction processes while significantly reducing the manual effort involved in locating and assigning materials.

    The solution combines mobile data capture through beacon scanning with a centralized web service integration. This allows components to be recorded directly on site, automatically identified, and managed across locations in real time. All information is consolidated centrally and made available for reporting, planning, and operational workflows.
